Abdul Lateef Aqel’s Book launch “Siraj the occupied land”
at the Jerusalem Festival “Voices of Freedom”
Yabous Cultural Centre is helping create interest in literature among the Palestinian public, through the revival of literary readings, and encouraging the habit of reading, and literary reviews and analysis. In order to shed light on the contributions of Palestinian poets who have had special and distinctive experiences in the field of creative writing, especially in relation to their experience under the Palestinian political and cultural reality. The Center is compiling their poetic work, which has
not been published, with reviews to be published in a special book. Among the poets Fawzi al-Bakri and Abdul Latif Aql.
This project aims at providing the Palestinian public of different age groups, writers, intellectuals and those interested in literature and reading to learn about these unique experiences, in terms of their artistic, literary and national values, in an important historical context and during a pivotal period in the history of the Palestinian people. And In support of promising creative experiences in writing, the Yabous Centre is keen to organize evenings to discuss recent books. An evening will be held at the Jerusalem Festival to discuss two stories of the young Jerusalemites writers, Linda Sandouka ( Al Seik ) and Misa’ Idreis (King of California).
