The Jerusalem Festival 2008
Yabous Productions
The power and spirit of music will dazzle Jerusalem and rekindle our memory.
Yabous Productions is proud to present the Jerusalem Festival at the Tombs of
the Kings in East Jerusalem, to be held from 23 to 31 July 2008. Jerusalem will
be home to a rich array of music and dance from Palestine and various other
parts of the world.
For Yabous, culture is a fundamental force for development and understanding
as we endeavour to enhance its expression. Music has the power to move us, to
change us, to awaken our memory, to free us to dream. This year, as we remember
60 years of al-Nakba, music will rekindle our commitment towards our just cause.
More than 7,000 people are expected to attend this year's Jerusalem Festival,
which will again bring together various artists who are committed to social
justice and human freedom.
The Jerusalem Festival is organised in cooperation with the Consulate General
of France in Jerusalem and through the support of the Welfare Association,
Palestine Development & Investment ltd (PADICO), Bank of Palestine, the United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Swiss Agency for Development and
Cooperation (SDC), the Ford Foundation, A.M. Qattan Foundation, Consulate
General of Spain, the Spanish Cooperation Office, Monte Carlo Doualiya and the
Pontifical Mission.
